Up to this point, plates were relegated to private collections or showcased on a vehicle, but some states require the same plate on the front and back of the automobile while on the open road. People all over the country collect license plates, and over the one hundred or so years that license plates have existed in their current form, there have been many that can be treated as art, and are respected and sought after to this day.
